Our Friend
While many insects are bothersome, and some even disgust us because they bite us, the blue dasher dragonfly always is welcome around our home. The blue dasher is an expert flier with speeds few other insects can match. aIn addition, it has exceptional eyesight making it a deadly predator. Reportedly their strike rate hovers around 95% making it deadly to other insects. Now here is what really makes it our friend. Not only do they reduce the number of bothersome insects in general, but their preference is mosquitoes. But wait! They can eat up to 100 mosquitoes a day. How's that for our friend.
