Where Are They?
Wood storks are among the largest wading birds. To put them into perspective, n North America, only the great blue heron is larger in almost every regard. The roseate spoonbill, on the other hand, is smaller in almost every regard. Interestingly, adult wood storks are effectively mute. They only can make soft grunts during interactions with one another.
