Turning the Catch
Once the prey has been caught and the osprey is off to ha higher perch to eat its meal, it will gradually turn the fish so that the head is facing backward. Ever wonder why? It is purely aerodynamics. An open mouth fish will catch air and slow down the osprey's forward speed.
