Hummingbirds are not very social.  Like most other birds in migration, hummingbirds do not fly in flocks.  They fly individually.  

They also compete aggressively for food sources.  They are very territorial and get extremely feisty during mating season.  Not only do they remember their migration routes, but reportedly remember the yard and flowers they have visited in previous years.

I actually have seen the "resident hummingbird" attack other birds to protect "its feeder".
