New Beginnings

For 5 years I have been watching the swans return, build their nest on the other side of the lake and give birth to as many as 5 cygnets.
This year, they have decided to stay home with us, as opposed to nesting on the other side of the lake.

I am excited to be to watch and to photograph the entire life cycle so I can share it with you.

We now are in the nest building stage which has been going on for almost 2 weeks. I anticipate that egg laying will begin in a week or so which likely will take another 10 - 14 days to complete

After that, we will sit and watch for the eggs to hatch which will take approximately 45 days.

I look forward to capturing this life cycle and sharing it with you over the next two months.
